Week 41:'Loser' Leading while 'Ant-Man' Won Debut Weekend
According to EBOT statistics, mainland box office total revenue in the 41st week (Oct.12-18, 2015) dropped 37% to $124.56 million yet seeing 61% up y-o-y. Movie admissions of this week totaled 23.38 million than its last week.
Black horse “Goodbye Mr. Loser” fetched the top-ranking title a $46.7 million in another whole week running. The opening of “Ant-Man” has changed the weekend market with $42.8 million. Following is the most famous French IP in China for the last decade, “The Little Prince,” taking $10.9 million for its opening in three days.
Directed by Lu Chuang, “Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe”, fell into the fifth place with weekly gross,$5.92 million, therefore its total reached $106 million in its 3rd week screening. Its contender, “Saving Mr. Wu” in sixth place, counting $3.47 million weekly gross for a total of $30.35 million for 19 days. The next to "Saving Mr. Wu", “Inside Out”, adding $2.38 million to $14.74 million in China's market.
Local horror-thriller “Campus Mystery” opend $840,000 for its opening three days. The last two films of week 41's Top 10 chart: No.9, crime drama “The Coffin in the Mountain” with $670,000 and No. 10 “Balala The Fairies – Princess Camellia” took $590,000 for $5.95 million after 18 days.
