Week 37: 'Rogue Nation' Stays No.1, 'Minions' Catches Up on Weekend

According to EBOT statistics, mainland box office total revenue in the 37th week (Sep. 14-20, 2015) dropped below $100 million to $91 million, down 28% w-o-w, still up 77% y-o-y. Movie admissions of this week dropped 28% to 17.27 million than its last week.

"Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation” and “Minions” still controlled the Chinese audience’s ticketing-buying intentions with close scores of $33.7 million and the other $31.27 million in both of their second week. Sony’s “Pixels”, top 3 earning film, averagely accounted for 13.4% of last week’s market, grossing $12.14 million for its first six-day venture in the Middle Kingdom.

"Assassination”, imported action and crime film from South Korea, marked up four-day opening gross of $3.9 million in the fourth place. Ranking behind “Assassination”, domestic production “Ulterior Motive” cumed $1.49 million on 289,274 admissions. “Saving Mr. Wu” obtained $1.22 million as well as moviefans' social-media promotion during weekend previews.

"The Hundred Regiments Offensive" totally earned $63.23 million for 24 days by adding $910,000 in week 37, ranking No. 7. No.8 was taken by "The Dead End" with $840,000 into $47.6million total for 25 days. Rounding out top 10 were "Evil Call" and "Monster Hunt".
