Week 24: Debut of 'SPL2' Didn't Hurt 'Jurassic World' Expanding

According to EBOT statistics, mainland boxoffice gross in the 24th week (Jun. 15-21, 2015) maintained $147million, up 2% w-o-w, seeing 90% of increase y-o-y. With plus 4%, moviegoers this week totaled 24.5million.

"Jurassic World” still stood on first place in mainland China with 46.5% market share and earned another $68.49 million for its second week. As the strongest newly released, “SPL 2: A Time For Consequences” followed in the second place by gaining over $43.3million from 7.3million action film fans. Showing for 20 days in China, disaster film “San Andreas” added new $12.51million weekly gross to $94.4million total gross.

Ranking the week’s No. 4, “Insurgent” debuted $9.1 million in mainland China, which was much weaker than its record at home (North America).  ”The Ark of Mr. Chow”, the No.5, opened in the same weekend as “Insurgent”, cumed $4.5million on 887612 admissions. In the sixth place, “Stand by Me Doraemon” fell backward in its third week’s screening, gaining additional $2.9million for $86.0million total revenue.

Taiwanese romance films “Love Me Love My Dog” was ranked No.7 with nearly $2million earnings during its first weekend. The next was a new thriller, “Admissions by Guts”, totaled $710-thousand with India’s “P.K.” following with $600 thousand box office. Youth-romance film “Zai Jian Wo Men De Shi Nian” made $370,000 in last week and totally cumed $850,000 for 10 days.
