Week13: ‘Wolf Warriors’ Debuted $32M and Lifted Up Weekly Total

According to EBOT statistics, mainland boxoffice gross in the 13th week (Mar. 30-Apr.5, 2015) rose to $109million, a growth of 40% w-o-w, and up 48% y-o-y. Moviegoers of last week climbed to 20.17million, expanding 37% vs. 12th week.

"Wolf Warriors” ruled the theatres since its opening on April 2, taking $32.45million in four days. With the other new films lagging behind, “Kingsman: The Secret Service” stood still in the second place via adding a decent $30.84million to $55million total gross last week. The British styled film attracted another 5.6millions of admission and booked 40000 more showing than “Wolf Warriors”. “Let’s Get Married” has cumed $22.91million for four days, and accounted for 21% of the 13th week’s mainland China’s film market.

Presenting famous Hong Kong cast and crew, “Insanity” pushed away “Cinderella” and obtained $4.33million in the fourth place. In the fifth place, the former box office winner "Cinderella” earned another $3.42million into $69.45million. Following was a newcomer, “The House of Magic” cumed modest $2.98million in two days’ screening. “Lost and Love” and “Taken 3” calculated $2.4million and $2.3million respectively, which turns out close box office performance for 17 days in mainland China, $34million and $32million.

Rounding out the top 10 were “Outcast” and “Two Thumbs Up”, both earning over $1million in opening weekend.
