Week 12:'Kingsman' Defeated All Enemies to Grab $24M on Debut
According to EBOT statistics, mainland boxoffice gross in the 12th week (Mar. 23-29, 2015) totaled $77million, down 18% w-o-w, yet up 46% y-o-y. Moviegoers of last week decreased to 14.64million, another 17% slide than the 11th week.
Starring famous British actor, Colin Firth, “Kingsman: The Secret Service” was ranked top 1 and put in $24.25million in three days opening on mainland Chinese screens. In the second place, Andy Lau’s “Lost and Love” took $13.44million weekly gross from 2.7million admissions. For another week in mainland China, “Taken 3” maintained the third place with additional $12.73million to nearly $30million total gross. Closely following “Taken 3”, “Cinderella” obtained $12.33million in week 12, standing back on No. 4. “Big Hero 6” is gradually fading out in mainland China’s market after embraced $83.53million total revenue for a month. Then next came a domestic sci-fi and fantasy, “10000 Years Later”, earning $3million in first three days.
Focusing and adapting from the Hong Kong social reality, “Little Big Master” found its audiences in 10 days’ screening and moved forward to the seventh place with $1.42million. Following two animations, “Legend of Rabbit” ($0.82m) and “Paddington” ($0.62m), “Wolf Totem” appeared as No. 10 in box office ranking with $570,000 in last week.
