According to China Box-office statistics by Enbase, the mainland Box-office gross in Week 38 (Sep 12-18, 2011) reached $28.04 million, showing a 2% box-office growth from last month and a 46% increase compared to the same time last year. Moviegoers in this week counted as 5.11million in total, slumped about 1% compared to last month. Hollywood blockbuster "The First Avenger: Captain American" continue to win the weekly box office with an outstanding $5.64 million, followed by "Sanctum" with $5.52 million. The latest flat-fee Imported Film "Drive Angry "set itself apart in its first week run as Box-office Top 4 with $3.7 million.
Although there was six fresh films released this week only "Drive Angry" and "The man from nowhere" squeezed into the Top10. "Captain American" continued it Top 1 position with $5.64 million. "Sanctum" played the Cameron and Avatar high-tech card to get a 66% raising week-on-week and landed Top 2, nabbed a total $5.52 million. Domestic films did not gain a satisfying result in this week, for one Revenue-sharing Imported Film (Captain American) and two Flat-fee Imported Films (Sanctum and Drive Angry) are on screen at the same period. Hollywood imported films took 67% share in the whole Box-office market this week.
