Week 6: 'Somewhere Only We Know' Ruled over Valentine’s Day

According to EBOT statistics, mainland boxoffice gross in the 6th week (Feb. 9-15, 2015) climbed over $106million, up 11% w-o-w, yet a drop of 21% y-o-y. Moviegoers this week reached 18.6million, slightly rising 7% from the 17million in 5th week.

 
 
Since debut on Tuesday, “Somewhere Only We Know” has stood still in the first place with $14million from its weekdays’ screening and earned $23million more from the Valentine’s weekend. Lagging a distance of $16million from “Somewhere Only We Know”, "Mockingjay- Part I” only cumed 3.6million admissions in 200276 showings with China’s beloved actress, Jennifer Lawrence. The third place was still maintained by “Boonie Bears: Mystical Winter” with another $8.32million to $40.13million total gross. In one-week advanced screening, “Wolf Totem” was ranked the weekly top 4 with $7.57million in limited showings of 17788. In the 6th week of Mainland China’s market, the final installment of "The Hobbit” added $7.54million weekly gross and notched up over $121million gross total in its 24 days’ screening.
 
"Running Man” saw a severe drop from the top spot to the sixth place last week, which gained $6.17million with market share shrinking to 5.9%. Its boxoffice revenue was totally calculated $68.45million.
 
Rounding out the top 9 were comedies: “Crazy New Year’s Eve”, “One Night Stud” and “An Inspector Calls”. Top 10 was another animation sequel "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf-Amazing Goat”, earning $1.62million in its third week on screens.
