According to China Box-office statistics by enbase, the mainland Box-office gross in Week 42 (Oct 10- Oct 16, 2011) reached $19.1 million, showing a 19% box-office decline from last month and a 6% growth compared to the same time last year. Moviegoers in this week counted as 3.93 million in total, slumped about 47% compared to last month. China Box-office performance fell into downturn straight after the National Day holidays and the domestic films market share dropped to 69% by box office this week. The film market entered a downturn straight after the National Day holidays, either the admissions or the number of moviegoers has slumped nearly half comparing to its last week’s performance. The fierce competition between “Mural” and “The Sorcerer and the White Snake” has almost over and the whole business stepped to the phase of adjustment. “The Sorcerer and the White Snake” surpassed “Mural” once again with a weekly gross of $4.66 million while its total gross is $28.37 million. The latter grabbed $4.26 million following closely. Contributing to the depressed business, New-released Hollywood film “Limitless” grossed $3.47 million within its 4 days seizing Top 3, the Science-Fiction film is regarded as the strong stimulation to the market in this week. The only other imported film “Last Night” rank Top 6 with $0.77 million in ticket sales.

The long run of flat-rate film “Sanctum” was released 6 weeks ago and by last Sunday had sold $17.71 million tickets overall and the 4-week-ago-released “China 1911” gained $1.13 million in this week while its total gross is $7.95 million. Thriller movie ”Who Under the Bed” rank Top 5 with $1.1 million admission and “The Dragon Knight” which is released last Wednesday had caught $4.97 million in total.

According to the data published by enbase, “The Sorcerer and the White Snake” and “Mural“‘ s screening rate are 22% and 20% respectively which enjoyed the most and secondary screening rate of this week. The fresh released film “Limitless” took a 12% screening rate in its first week. Along with the past of National Day holiday, number of screenings have declined 20% from last month. With the release of “limitless” and ”Last Night”, the rest films on-screened this week have been taken some space away in the market share. “limitless” even dominated as the number one when it comes to the  Golden-time screening rate and additional-screening rate, taking over “Mural” and ”China 1911”.
