A Chinese company has poured US$105 million, the bulk of its production budget, into a major Hollywood production, announced the manager of the company on Wednesday, the fifth day of the Shanghai International Film Festival.

"Good Tibetan films have something in common," said culture critic Yang Huiqin. "It's their focus on humans. This is illuminating for the production of other ethnic minority films, she said. Different traditions among ethnicities in China result in complicated filming efforts. Exploring people's inner feeling creates sympathy among audiences.

"These goals are aimed at improving and harmonizing copyrights and related protection for audiovisual performers in an international legal framework," Trevor Clarke, assistant director general of the World Intellectual Property Organization, said at a press conference last week.
