Festival of Chinese Films in Nunney
A free one-day festival of Chinese films will take place in Nunney on Saturday.
The Nunney Festival of Chinese Films is presented by charity Filming East in association with the Nunney Players, Nunney Village Hall Committee and Visit Nunney.
Two films will be shown. Shaolin, featuring Andy Lau and Nicholas Tse Wang, is an action adventure in which Shaolin masters are forced to take a fiery stand against evil warlords.
The film is the first since the 1970s to have been shot in and around the real Shaolin temple complex in China.
Jackie Chan and Leehom star in Little Big Soldier, an action adventure comedy about an old soldier who kidnaps a young general of an enemy state and takes him on a long journey to collect the reward.
An introduction to Chinese cinema, illustrated with a selection of short films, will also be presented by Xiaoxiao Sun, director of Filming East, and Yang Xiao, manager of Filming East Festival.
They will answer questions about Chinese films and its industry after the presentation.
The event will be held at Nunney Village Hall. Doors open at 2.30pm and the festival ends at 9pm.
The minimum age for entry is 15 due to the certificates of the two films being shown.
