Asia Society Southern California’s Entertainment and Media in Asia (EMASIA) will present the third annual U.S.-China Film Summit on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at UCLA’s Covel Commons in Los Angeles.

This three-part panel discussion will bring together prominent Chinese and Hollywood film industry leaders who will share their experiences and strategies on successfully navigating the East-West filmmaking process. The summit will focus on the trends and dynamics facing U.S.-China film industry relationships and recent advances in Hollywood and China partnerships and collaborations.

The gala awards dinner, also at Covel Commons, will feature keynote addresses from HAN Sanping, chairman of China Film Group, who will receive the 2012 “China Entertainment Visionary of the Year” award, and Lewis Coleman, president and CFO of DreamWorks Animation, who will receive the 2012 “U.S. Entertainment Visionary of the Year” award. It also remains one of the most challenging, interesting and still evolving relationships. For the benefit of a whole spectrum of professionals on both sides of the Pacific who are committed to getting this relationship right, I am pleased that we are yet again hosting this platform for thought leadership and relationship building,” said Peter Shiao, chairman of the Summit and CEO of Orb Media Group.
