Dutch producer and distributor Film Content Company Europe (FCCE) is opening a new office in China after launching a joint venture with a local private holding company.
FCCE China, based in Beijing, is a collaboration between FCCE and Trihelix and will aim to adapt international formats for the Chinese market.
Chinese programming and formats will also be acquired for distribution overseas.
FCCE China also plans to offer third-party producers and distributors a gateway into the rapidly expanding Chinese television market.
Justus AG Verkerk, chief commercial officer of Amsterdam-based FCCE, said its first project would be a Chinese adaptation of its weekly half-hour series Films and Stars. He said FCCE also plans to announce a major new entertainment project for the Chinese market during Mipcom.
Trihelix, which is based in Beijing, is a holding company operating in business development, media (TV, film and new media) and energy and resources.
