Taiwan films have become increasingly popular in Chinese mainland in recent years. And this month mainland filmmakers got a chance to show their productions in Taiwan. As a visiting delegation of filmmakers, government officials and businessmen from Anhui Province launched a film week in Taipei.
A series of award-winning films shot by Anhui directors were showcased there, as well as a strong selection of popular Anhui films. A film featuring Anhui's signature Huangmei Opera was one of the most popular screenings. The delegation and insiders of the Taiwan film industry reached an agreement for some of their biggest talents to join hands in creating a film. This event was designed to boost cultural exchange and cooperation between Anhui Province and Taiwan. And next year, Anhui Province will host "Taiwan Culture Week".
