Chinese Cinema Days will Promote Cultural Cooperation with Belarus
Minsk will host Chinese Cinema Days from 26 September to 3 October, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Belarus.
The Days are conducted by the Chinese embassy in cooperation with the Culture Ministry of Belarus and Kinovideoprokat Company. Demonstration of the best Chinese films nominated for numerous international awards will take place at the Tsentralny Cinema. All the movies will be shown in original with Russian subtitles.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus Gong Jianwei took note of the significance of this cultural event which, according to him, promotes better understanding between the two nations.
The head of the Chinese diplomatic mission said that cultural cooperation between Belarus and China is vibrant. This year the two countries are marking the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations. A host of cultural events has been held in Belarus and China to celebrate this date. An interesting cultural program was organized in the House of Friendship, which included a series of evenings, meetings and exhibitions narrating about the Chinese culture and history. On 24 September the House of Friendship hosted an evening dedicated to the 63rd anniversary of the foundation of the People’s Republic of China.
The Ambassador expressed confidence that China and Belarus would continue strengthening their cultural ties.
