Senior Chinese Leader Calls for More Works of Excellency
A senior Chinese leader on Monday called on workers in the cultural sector to craft more quality works for cultural prosperity.
Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks at an awards gala for the "Five-One" program in the new China Central Television (CCTV) headquarters.
The program, launched in 1991, is designed to produce a good book, a good opera, a good film, a good TV drama and one or more good articles annually in China.
A total of 176 artistic works were award-winners in the program this year.
Li presented the prizes to the winners. He encouraged those working in the cultural field to create works centered on the people and to craft more works loved by the people.
