The respectable 77-year-old Chinese actor Wang Zhigang died of cancer on September 16, Chinesefilms.cn reports.
Wang was born in Beijing in 1935 and began studying acting at the Beijing Film Academy in 1957.
After he graduated, he starred in many classic Chinese films, including "Conscription" (1963), "Ye Huo Chun Feng Dou Gu Cheng" (1963), "Fen Shui Chang Liu" (1965) and "Ku Cai Hua" (1965).
Late in his career, Wang also tried his hand at directing.
