Anime Beijing:30000 Visitors and Over 5bn Yuan Agreements in 4 Days
Anime Beijing, a four-day Cartoon Carnival, including cartoon exhibitions, cosplay contest, commercial forums and other activities closed last month.
According to statistics from the organization committee, more than 30000 citizens participated in these activities and over 200 enterprises have reached cooperation agreements of about 5.58 billion yuan on the forums.
The carnival was organized by BeijingMunicipal Cultural Bureau, government of Shijingshan district, Beijing and Chinese Animation Group, which was quite approved by enterprises attended as they believe a platform set up by government is of more credibility.
"It's the golden age for Chinese animation in future 15 to 20 years", predicted Steven, a visual expert from the U.S, "the whole animation industry is desperate for new stories, which will probably appear in China!"
However, quality problems are still troubling Chinese animation industry though animation products are experiencing fast increasing. There are more and more Chinese cartoon images, but the real brand remains rare. The main reason is that "Chinese animations are neither good at telling stories in cartoon languages, nor telling Chinese stories in international languages", said HU Yuming, chief accountant of China ACG Group Co., Ltd.
Steven talked about this problem on forum that "we pay too much attention on Chinese culture. Anime, however, consists of various elements such as love, action and life, are all important."
