Hong Kong filmmaker Roy Cho has started promoting his new fantasy-suspense detective film "The Great Detective" in Beijing.
The film is adapted from Huo Sang Detective Stories by Cheng Xiaoqing, who is widely acknowledged as "the first name in Chinese detective literature".
Cho is very satisfied with the performance of the actor Han Geng, who plays a smart detective who is also a neat-freak.
"I've adapted the central character to be a younger and more fashionable guy. In real life, Han Geng is fashionable, but I particularly appreciate his eye contact which makes him look peculiar."
Up-and-coming young actor Yin Zheng, veteran actor Zhou Xiaodong and actress Zhang Huiwen, all appear in the film.
The film was shot in Prague as well as Shanghai, and is scheduled to be released this summer.
