Donnie Yen and Jiang Wen Reunite in 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'
Anticipation has been growing among sci-fans in China, with "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" due to open in Chinese theatres on January 6th.
The film includes a pair of Chinese stars, mainland actor-director Jiang Wen and Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen.
Jiang Wen says his decision to join the "Star Wars" franchise was made - in part - because of his son.
"My son told me that he wanted to see me in a role as an action hero. But after I signed on, I really got into the role because of the excitement of director Gareth Edwards, who made all of us feel like we were all students working together on a college campus," said Jiang.
Jiang Wen plays a soldier devoted to protecting Donnie Yen's character in the new film.
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is set to open 3-weeks after the release of Zhang Yimou's "The Great Wall," which has been dominating the Chinese box office.
