Zhang Yimou, a heavyweight in China's film industry, has recently led his star-studded cast to Beijing, promoting his new movie 'Great Wall'.
Lu Han, a singer-actor who used to be a member of K-pop band EXO, is a part of the cast. At the promotional event, Zhang Yimou disclosed details on the character that Lu Han portrays in the movie.
"In the movie, Lu Han has scenes with Hollywood actor Matt Damon. He acts as a soldier who eventually becomes a hero. Audiences would be moved by his portrayal."
Meanwhile, Chinese actress Jing Tian is also making her English-language debut in the upcoming legendary fantasy opposite Matt Damon.
The Great Wall takes place during the 15th Century. It tells the story of an elite group of soldiers who band together to save Earth from giant mythical creatures who are trying to destroy humanity.
The film will also feature many famous Chinese actors in supporting roles, including Lin Gengxin and Huang Xuan.
Great Wall or Chang Cheng in Chinese is due for release on the 16th of December.
