Railroad Tigers, the latest action comedy of Jackie Chan, will open to Chinese theaters on Dec 30.

Set during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-45), the upcoming film is about a legendary Communist guerrilla troop. Comprising a group of railroad workers, they fight against the Japanese enemies and capture food from the trains for the poor.

Director Ding Sheng, once teaming up with Chan in the 2010 action comedies Little Big Soldier and Police Story 2013, again allies Chan to helm the new movie.

The crew reconstructed a railway station in northeastern China, which took them 90 days, and finished most of the stunts on a running train.

Alongside Chan, the young idols, such as singer Huang Zitao and actor Wang Kai, are also starred in the cast — the first such try for Chan, who used to recruit veterans adept at performing stunts.

Chan says he is always seeking a breakthrough on action choreography and uses slides and bamboos as platforms to jump on a running train.

"The moves demand high accuracy. Otherwise you jump on the wrong place, it will be very aching," says Chan.
