Over 300 domestic and foreign-produced films will be screened at 33 cinemas during the 15th Shanghai International Film Festival, which will run from June 16 to 24.
They include oscar-crowned "The Artist," "Midnight in Paris" and 3-D versions of classic animations "The Lion King" and "Beauty and the Beast" strongly demanded by the audience, according to the screening list revealed by the organizers on Monday.
In a section titled "tribute to masters," pieces including "Cleopatra" will be presented to commemorate late screen legend Elizabeth Taylor. "Voyage to the Moon," regarded as the first sci-fi movie, will also be reviewed.
Founded in 1993, the Shanghai filmfest is China's main international film event.
Renowned French director Jean-Jacques Annaud will chair the jury for the main competition section of this year's Shanghai film festival, following in the footsteps of world-class filmmakers such as Luc Besson, Danny Boyle and Barry Levinson.
