Israel Dori Exports “Mannequins” Format Drama to China
Israel-based telenovela specialist Dori Media Group has sold the rights for two of its scripted formats in China.
The rights to produce local versions of drama series “Mannequins” and “Amanda O” have been picked up by Chinese independent production company Idea Asia Media. The financial conditions of the deal and the name of the broadcaster(s) havent been publicized.
. “Mannequins” was originally produced by production subsidiary Dori Media Darset for Israeli multi-channel platform Hot’s VoD service in 2007. The 102×35′ series centred on the competitive world of modelling and averaged 160,000 downloads per episode. Mannequins’ episodes were ordered 16 million times during its first six months of availability on VOD service.
. “Amanda O” was produced by another of Dori’s subsidiaries, Dori Media Contenidos in Latin America. the cross platform series has been sold into 105 territories since it launched in 2008. The series focuses on a paparazzi-seeking diva who is forced to flee after a damaging revelation is published about her in the press.
