DreamWorks Channel Launches With Le Eco in Hong Kong
The DreamWorks Channel is this week being given a launch in Hong Kong and Macau on the Le Eco streaming platform.
The channel in Cantonese and English versions will only be available LeEco hardware including its SuperTVs, Le Superphones, and the set top decoder Le TV Box. An SVOD offering of the DreamWorks Channel will launch later this year.
The channel has had other recent launches in Asia: in Thailand and Malaysia at the end of last year and in Singapore earlier in 2016. HBO Asia is managing affiliate sales, marketing and technical services for the new channel.
The initial content line-up will include DWA’s series "Dragons: Race to the Edge," and "Dinotrux." Additional series will include "All Hail King Julien," "The Adventures of Puss in Boots," "Dawn of the Croods," and "The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show."
Le Eco was established in China in 2004 and set up its first operations outside mainland China in Hong Kong in 2014. It claims an estimated 250 million page views per day for its website, 350 million users per month, 100 million daily content viewers on mobile devices, and 10 million daily content viewers on large-screen TVs.
