The Wuxi (National) Digital Film Industrial Park, currently under construction, is slated to open for business this October. Traditional sound stages and "waterscape" sound stages are currently being built at the park, which aims to attract key domestic and international post-production companies to work on major international releases. Plans for the park call for occupancy to reach 500 film and TV companies, as well as related companies, within three to five years after construction is complete, for a predicted output value of up to RMB 20 bln per year.
The park will also seek to attract travel companies, leisure and entertainment companies, and food and beverage companies to establish a film theme park that will use digital film technology to illustrate the process of making a film.
