China-U.S. Agency Leeding Management Launched
Chinese star Jiang Wen, who recently joined the cast of “Star Wars” Rogue One” is among the first clients of Leeding Management, a new China-U.S. management firm established by David U. Lee’s Leeding Media.
Alongside founder Lee veteran producer and executive Steven Squillante has joined Leeding Media as partner and COO. Squillante will oversee day-to-day operations at both Leeding Media and Leeding Management.
Lee and Squilante previously worked together at Miramax / Dimension Films. Squillante also recently provided post-production services on Jiang Wen’s most recent directorial effort "Gone With The Bullets.” Jiang Wen is also represented by WME.
"The existing and rapidly growing business of Leeding Media coupled with the entrepreneurial opportunities of Leeding Management provides a unique opportunity to bring all my collected experience to bear,” Squillante said in a statement.
"Leeding Management is dedicated to working with unique filmmakers and talents with powerful and inspirational voices, helping them reach the global audience and make a difference,” said Lee.
Leeding Media is an independent aggregator and marketer of films in China, handling the marketing of 12 feature films theatrically and controlling the digital distribution rights to 400 titles in China. It also helped orchestrate the launch and ongoing operation of Lionsgate Entertainment World, which is the subscription streaming service between Alibaba Group and Lionsgate.
