Tara Yin has been named general manager of Paramount’s China office, the studio announced today. Yin, who previously served as senior manager of Imax China, will oversee the distribution and marketing of Paramount films in China and work closely with China Film Group and other Chinese partners.
At Imax, Yin oversaw the company’s development of dozens of Imax Theatres and contributed to Imax’s theater deals with Wanda Cinema Line Corporation, Jinyi Media, CJ CGV and Shanghai Film Group. She was also involved in the distribution of IMAX format films in China.
Prior to that, Yin was the marketing and advertising director for Wanda Cinema Line Corporation in Beijing, where she led the marketing efforts at local theaters and negotiated film distribution with studios.

In April, Paramount announced that it was expanding its office in China and shifting its business operations from Shanghai to Beijing.
