China's CCTV6 to Launch 'Talking to Hollywood With Betty Zhou'
The movie channel of state broadcaster Chinese Central Television, CCTV6, on Wednesday announced the launch of an original entertainment news show, Talking to Hollywood with Betty Zhou, which will launch on Friday.
The series was co-created by Rob Moore, vice chairman of Paramount Pictures, and Zhou in partnership with Paramount, Walt Disney Studios, Universal Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Chinese actress Zhou will also serve as the show’s producer.
"Talking to Hollywood with Betty Zhou delivers an inside look at the movie business to its most passionate and dedicated fans in China," Moore said in a statement. "My colleagues in Hollywood and I look forward to working with our friends at CCTV6 on this exciting new venture."
The show will air weekly and will feature new exclusive content and interviews with top Hollywood talent each week.
In the show, Zhou will drive race cars with Tom Cruise, tour the Pixar Animation Studios, spar with Arnold Schwarzenegger, meet Marvel’s newest big-screen superhero Antman and much more, the producers promise.
Zhou previously worked as a bilingual on-air host for NBA tour events, and during the 2013-2014 season she hosted and served as a commentator for CTV’s NBA Sai Chang. She was a commentator for both the 2014 NFL Superbowl and NBA All-Star Weekend broadcasts and currently serves as a host for the NBA official show in China, NBA Inside Stuff China.
She also hosted the Transformers: Age of Extinction China movie premiere last year, which featured a live performance of the band Imagine Dragons, and as the co-host of the Transformers movie CCTV TV Special.
