Disney has opened a major retail store in Shanghai, China. The move precedes the opening of Disney’s Shanghai Resort theme park next year.
The opening of the Disney Store in Shanghai came one day after the topping of the Enchanted Storybook Castle at the park.
The company said that the store is its largest anywhere in the world and that the part of Shanghai where it is located receives some 40 million tourist visitors per year.
The store features popular characters from across the Disney, Pixar, Marvel and “Star Wars” franchises. It will have 860 square meters of retail space and offer 2,000 items.
