Paramount Pictures Moving China Office to Beijing
Paramount Pictures is shifting its China office from Shanghai to Beijing over the next few months, reflecting the capital's importance as a center of film production, distribution and marketing in the world's second-largest film market.
The relocation is expected to happen over the next several months, the group said in a statement. Zhe Chen, the general manager of Paramount China, will not be relocating to Beijing due to family reasons.
The studio hopes to announce a new GM in the coming weeks.
"The studio expressed their thanks to Zhe for his many contributions and consistent professionalism during his 14 years with the company (including under the previous UIP joint venture), and wishes him much success in the future," Paramount said in a statement.
