Youku Tudou Inc plans to seek collaboration with US entertainment companies for original dramas and talk show productions, according to US media report on Monday.
The video-streaming website is looking abroad for original dramas and talk shows, the report cited Youku Tudou Chairman and CEO Victor Koo as saying in Hong Kong. Koo said by next year the company will work with US and European partners.
He defined original content as in-house production developed with Chinese and global partners.
Koo also said the site is allowed to have no more than 30 percent of foreign programs out of the total content.
Youku already works with South Korean film and television production houses. The Sino-South Korean co-produced contents are treated as local content.
The chairman and CEO said the website is working with regulators on quota.
