According to a report from Sohu.com, two famous anchors, Li Ruiying and Zhang Hongmin, confirmed that they will be retiring from China's most popular news program "News Broadcast."
The reporter from Sohu.com contacted Li and received a text message reply informing him that both Li and Zhang would be shifted to new positions. Li said in the text message that both Zhang and herself would probably go to work for the CCTV Anchors Working Committee to direct news-anchor training programs.
Both Li and Zhang have worked in China Central Television (CCTV), China's national state broadcaster, for over 30 years. Li said that both Zhang and herself appreciate all that CCTV and TV audiences have done for them, adding that they will continue to contribute to CCTV's development with their expertise and experience.
Li Ruiying graduated from Beijing Broadcasting Institute and joined CCTV in 1987. She has participated in many large-scale reporting events including the 1997 handover of Hong Kong and the 2008 Financial Summit.
