BIFF in 2012 Aims to Extend its Influence
Curtains for the 2nd edition of the Beijing International Film Festival (BIFF) will rise on April 23, 2012.
A star-studded red carpet walk and a grand opening ceremony will showcase films that meet international standards.
A host of renowned directors, actors and celebrities will present themselves at the event.
The first BIFF had 21 chairpersons from international film festivals and top Chinese directors and actors; the second edition will have more celebrated directors and actors from abroad appearing at the opening event.
The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on April 23, 2012.
The screening of the 2nd BIFF will run from April 21 to April 28. The selected films will be screened at commercial cinemas in Beijing. As of now, more than 400 films have been collected from 54 counties and regions, including features, short films, documentaries and animations.
The committee of the festival will continue to keep ticket prices reasonable so that more citizens will participate in the festival.
The Beijing International Film Festival started in 2011, where it was established as a professional platform for the exchange of films from near and afar.
