Chinese film studio Huayi Brothers has signed a strategic co-production and distribution agreement with QED International. The new partners will first work together on the release of David Ayer’s World War II film Fury -- starring Brad Pitt, Shia Labeouf – which Huayi will distribute in China.

“Huayi Brothers has been a leader in international co-productions for the Chinese market for years,” Huayi Brothers president Wang Zhonglei. “We’re excited that Fury will be the starting point for a strategic partnership with QED and look forward to cooperating on a series of international movie projects in the future.”

“We’re committed to providing filmmakers with a first-class distribution partner in every market, and Huayi Brothers is the perfect company to lead the charge for Fury in China,” said CEO Bill Block. “We’re also excited to explore other co-production and distribution opportunities with Huayi Brothers as we look to further establish ourselves in the dynamic Chinese market.”

Fury is scheduled to start shooting in September and a release date has been targeted for November, 2014. QED’s Cannes slate also includes Sabotage (formerly known as Ten), starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington and Mireille Enos, and also directed by Ayers, along with rom-com Fading Gigolo directed by and starring John Turturro and horror project Haunt with Jacki Weaver.
