The third Beijing International Film Festival is set to kick off here in Beijing starting from April.
A competition section will be rolled out for the first time this year. Ten awards including the best film and best actor will be handed out to eligible candidates.
Currently over 500 films have been signed up for the awards section, and 17 of which will be shortlisted.
The shortlist will be out by the end of next month.
It's expected that 260 domestic and international films will be screened across Beijing during the seven-day event.
Hollywood film director James Cameron attended last year's festival.
