New Zealand film makers wanting to work with one of the world’s fastest growing screen industries should be preparing their pitches, right now.

Through Film Auckland, the China Film Co-production Corporation has once again issued an invitation for New Zealand film makers to pitch their film projects by 8 March 2013.

“Last year New Zealand filmmakers really took this opportunity. We were very pleased that almost a third of the international projects selected to pitch came from New Zealand,” says Michael Brook, Manager Film Auckland for Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED).

“China is actively seeking more products for Western markets and sourcing new production partners. Local film makers now have a very real opportunity to access one of the world’s fastest
growing box offices.

“Selected projects will be announced on 15 March, and the successful film makers will attend the pitch-and-catch process at a forum during the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) in April.

“There is a lot of interest in co-producing films which is exciting for both countries and we look forward to assisting,” says Mr Brook.
