Wong Kar-wai's The Grandmaster to Open Berlin Film Festival
The lineup for this year's Berlin International Film Festival has been announced while Chinese director Wong Kar-wai is the jury president.
Offerings from directors young and old and from all over the globe make up this year's lineup of 19 films.
Director of the festival, Dieter Kosslick, says it's great to have such an eclectic mix of films, "We have a mixed competition. We have very young moviemakers. We have a lot of films from east European countries or east European filmmakers. And we have big films, big films from Hollywood and Asia like the opening night film from Wong Kar-wai or the world premiere of Soderbergh or the world premiere of 'Night Train to Lisbon'."
Wong's "The Grandmaster" is set to open the festival.
The 63rd Berlin International Film Festival will run from February 7 to 17, 2013.
