Tony Leung: Blind Agent in 'Windseeker'
The directorial duo Siu Fai Mak and Felix Chong's latest suspense movie "Windseeker" wrapped up shooting in Shanghai on December 20, Mtime.com reports.
A press conference was held to conclude its three month's shooting with the five leading actors making appearances. Tony Leung, Zhou Xun, Mavis Fan, Wang Xuebing and Dong Yong all star in the movie which is based on the best-selling novel "Plot Against" written by Mai Jiang, who also wrote the blockbuster movie "The Message."
"Windseeker" is set in 1951, when the mainland was in a fierce spy war with the Nationalist Party. Tony Leung, for the very first time, portrays a blind agent in the movie.
At the event, Leung commented that he was very worried about playing a blind character opposite Zhou Xun because they previously had had lots of eye contact in their soon-to-be-released movie 'The Great Magician'. "I'm good at using my eyes to express my feelings. Zhou and I just finished working in 'The Great Magician.' We had lots of eye contact in the movie as lovers." He said, "It's hard for me to depend only on gestures and body language. But I put my trust in directors."
The movie will enter its post-production stages very soon and is eyeing a summer holiday slot for its release in 2012.
