Beijing Music Festival Closes on High Note
The 15th Beijing Music Festival has been a great treat for music lovers all over China. And the closing performance last Friday ended the music fiesta on a high note. The three renowned tenors of China teamed up with famous American singer Michael Bolton to deliver a dazzling performance for the audience.
A lively performance by Dai Yuqiang was one of the first songs to greet the audience.
He performed the song "Strange harmony of contrasts" from the opera "Tosca".
Also from the opera "Tosca" is the song "The Stars Were Brightly Shining" performed by Wei Song.
The third tenor Mo Hualun performed a melody by the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini.
The show then took a sharp turn as the tenors switched to Chinese classics, the unique blend of Chinese melodies performed by opera vocalists were a hit with the audience.
Next up, renowned American singer Michael Bolton joined forces with the trio to perform "Nessun dorma" another classic from Puccini and a host of other works, bringing the show to its climax.
The 15th Beijing Music Festival proved to be a great success. The memories of concerts featuring famous composer Tan Dun, and the drama based on a Chinese classic "Yuan Ye" will live on in the hearts and minds of audiences.
