For several years China has produced more animation than any other country. However box office profits remain elusive. In 2013 the 29 China-made animation films released brought in just $103.7 million.

Homegrown films, not American imports, are driving box-office growth in largest foreign market, according to the survey from EntGroup, one of China's leading entertainment research and consulting firms.
