'Rogue One’ China Trailer Lands With More Footage Of Chinese Stars
Disney has dropped the Chinese trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and this newer version features additional footage, giving fans more of a glimpse at the film’s big Chinese stars Donnie Yen and Jiang Wen. It also shows more scenes of a bombing mission involving Wen’s assassin character Baze Malbus.
The highly-anticipated Star Wars spinoff is set to release in the Middle Kingdom on January 6, 2017, following a similar pattern to Disney’s release for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which opened in China earlier this year on January 9. That film took $124M in the market.
Rogue One, which opens in select international territories on December 14 and 15 and in North America on December 16, is directed by Garth Edwards and is set before the events of George Lucas’ original 1977 title Star Wars: A New Hope. In addition to actor-director Wen and martial arts star Yen, it stars Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Mads Mikkelsen and Diego Luna.
