Now Popcorn Movie Channel Celebrates its Launch

A new film channel titled Now Popcorn Movie Channel launched on March 15 in Hong Kong. A celebratory launch party was held last night, as reported by 163.com.
Three gurus of film, namely Wang Zhonglei, Peter Chan and William Kong, from the three giant film companies behind the channel -- Huayi Brothers Media, WE Pictures and EOKO Films Limited – came together to celebrate the outcome of their joint efforts.
A host of celebrities also brightened up the night, including Lau Wai Keung, Aaron Kwok, Daniel Wu and Feng Shaofeng.
Wang, Chan and Kong expressed their hope that 'Now Popcorn' could go on to become the Chinese equivalent of HBO, the popular American premium cable television network.
"To set up a Chinese HBO, which is able to provide multiple choice and rich film content, is a long-term desire," Peter Chan told reporters in attendance.
